Andromeda and the Christian Perspective

: As you may have read one of the events planned for the Charles Kingsley Festival is a choral setting of his epic poem Andromeda. Some reservations have been expressed as to the the poem’s lack of Christian persepective. In the original ancient Greek legend Perseus arrives mounted on Pegasus, a white horse. Although Kingsley in his poem does not mention either Perseus or  Pegasus in the book of Revelation Chapter 19, verse 11, the theme is hinted at by St John of Patmos “I saw heaven standing open and behold a white horse, and he who sat on it was called faithful and true and in righteousness he judges and goes into battle...”
